HAPPY EASTER: Easter services, Easter egg hunts, Good Friday closings

St. John announces Holy Week services

The Episcopal Church of St. John in the Wilderness welcomes children of all ages to participate in an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 9, at the Parish Hall across Rutledge Drive from the church.

Other Holy Week events include:
• Maundy Thursday: 7 p.m. Service with Foot Washing and Stripping of the Altar

• Good Friday, April 7: 11 a.m. Stations of the Cross - meet in the parking lot of the Parish Hall; noon, Good Friday Service (No Eucharist); 1-4 p.m. Veneration of the Cross in the church; 5:30 p.m. Good Friday Service (No Eucharist)

• Easter Sunday, April 8: 8:45 a.m. Easter Service - Rite II Eucharist; 10 a.m. Easter Egg Hunt in the Rector’s Garden and Parish Hall Lawn; 11 a.m. Easter Service - Rite II Eucharist

Baptist church invites kids to Easter Egg Hunt

West Hendersonville Baptist Church, 730 Willow Road, will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 11:45 a.m. Easter Sunday for kids 12 and under. All are welcome.

 

City and county offices closed on Good Friday

Henderson County government offices and agencies and the Henderson County Courthouse will be closed on Friday, April 7, in observance of Good Friday. The Henderson County Public Library will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, remain closed on Friday, April 7, reopening Saturday, April 8. The landfill and recycling center will be closed Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8. Animal services will be closed on Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8. Delivery of emergency services will not be disrupted on any of these dates.

Hendersonville city offices will be closed in observance of Good Friday on Friday, April 7. Garbage collection for Friday customers will be delayed by one week with collection resuming on Friday, April 14.
