Flags lowered to half-staff to honor border patrol casualties

The flags at all Henderson County facilities will be flown at half-staff beginning today in honor and memory of the two National Guardsmen and a Border Patrol agent who were killed in the line of duty in Texas on Friday.

While conducting an aviation operation, a helicopter crashed in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. The crash took the lives of Chief Warrant Officer 2 John M. Grassia, III, a New York State trooper and member of the New York National Guard, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Casey Frankoski, also a member of the New York National Guard, and Border Patrol Agent Chris Luna. "Our deepest sympathies are with the families and friends of those killed," the county said in a news release. Flags will remain at half-staff for three days.
