Mother charged after newborn tests positive for fentanyl

After an investigation into a report of a newborn testing positive for fentanyl, Henderson County sheriff’s detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the child's mother and charged Jessica Cho, 32, of Saluda, with child abuse.

Investigators determined sufficient evidence to support the charge following a thorough inquiry conducted by the major crimes unit special victims. Cho was taken into custody without incident and released under a $10,000 bond.
