Denis Douglas Fallon, the son of Annie Baird Fallon and Arthur Duncan Fallon, was born on July 28, 1921 in Darlington, England. The Fallons came to the United States when he was 7 years old.
During WWII, Denis was a navigator on a Halifax Lancaster bomber in the 429th Squadran, part of the 6 Group, Bomber Command of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was based at Leeming in Yorkshire, England and flew 37 missions over Germany.
Denis began in the Sales Department of Fasco Industries in Fayetteville, NC and retired in 1988 as Director of the Sales and Marketing Department.
Denis is survived by his wife, Eileen, of the home and two daughters, Patricia Madden of Chattanooga, TN and Diana Hedrick of Thomasville, NC and one grandson, Kyle Brewer of Charlotte, NC.
Denis is also survived by two stepsons, Miles Hoehn of Mansfield, OH and Donald Hoehn, of Scottsdale, AZ as well as two stepdaughters, Jan VanDine of Asheville, NC and Barbara DeWitt of Scottsdale, AZ. He has six stepgrandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Adhering to Denis' wishes, he has been sent to Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy in Winston-Salem, NC. Therefore, memorial services will be announced at a later time.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the loving staff at the Four Seasons Elizabeth House for the care and support Denis received in his final days. Memorial gifts in Denis' honor will be accepted at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.
