Lawrence M. Jackson, 73, a native of Edneyville, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Louise
Jackson, two brothers, Howard and Gerald Jackson, one sister, Margie
Jackson Hill and a father-in-law, William “Bill” King.
He was a lifetime member of Mtn. Home Baptist Church and was elected as trustee.
He worked at Cranston Print Works, Farm Bureau, Southern AG, FMC Chemical Co. and was also an apple farmer all of his life.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling westward.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rita King
Jackson; two children, Cathy Jackson Laughter of Wesley Chapel, NC and
Kenneth L. Jackson and his wife Brenda of Hendersonville; three
grandchildren, Carrie Jackson Kalanarhos and her husband George, Shane
M. Jackson and Dillon P. Laughter; one great grandson, Joseph A.
Kalanarhos; his sister, Mildred Jackson Reed and her husband Ned; his
mother-in-law, Pauline Jones King; several nieces and nephews and his
canine companion, Shadow.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 2nd at
Mtn. Home Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Garren and Rev. Bill Landreth
officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family
will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
