Mickey Marvin, 61 of Hendersonville went home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 6, 2017 at his home following his battle with ALS. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County he was preceded in death by his father Gordon J. Marvin and grandmother Dalla Green.
Mickey played and worked in various capacities for the Oakland/LA Raiders organization for 39 years. A lifelong member of the First Church of the Nazarene, He was a devout follower of Christ and found the most joy in sharing his testimony with others.
Surviving is his loving wife of 36 years, Lisa Conway Marvin; one son Jonathan Michael Marvin of Hendersonville; one daughter Paige Marvin Stines and husband Joshua of Seattle, Washington; mother and father Inez and Stan Taylor of Etowah; and a brother Linden Marvin of Hendersonville.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday at the Hendersonville First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Sherman Waters, Rev. John Marra and Rev. Joshua Stines officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4pm until 7pm Saturday at the church.
