Gladys Hall Estes, 85, of Hooper’s Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at her home.
She was a dedicated member of Hooper’s Creek Baptist Church for over 65 years, and retired from Gerber Foods after 31 years of service.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband Dealous Dexton Estes who died on December 26, 2002; as well as a sister, Geneva Estes and a brother, Weldon Hall.
She is survived by three sons: Doyle Estes and his wife Janis of Fletcher, Dexter Estes and his wife Robin of Fletcher, and Wayne Estes and his wife Pam of Hendersonville; a sister-in-law, Lula Morgan of Fletcher; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and children of the heart: Louise Conner and Family and Grover Barnwell and Family.
The family would like to extend their love and thanks for all the prayers and help that they received.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Hooper’s Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Philip Youngblood, Rev. Rick Phillips, and Rev. Eddie Youngblood will officiate. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Old Savannah Cemetery in Sylva, NC. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
