Gwendolyn (Gwen) Laye Freeman

Gwendolyn (Gwen) Laye Freeman, age 82, who died peacefully in her home on December 12, 2024 with her family and beloved fluffy puppy Izzy by her side. Gwendolyn was born on December 6, 1942, in Gaston County, NC, to the late Rev. LB Laye Sr. and Laura Laye.

A memorial service to celebrate Gwen's life will be held at 3 PM Saturday, May 3, 2025 in the chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
