Rita Livingston Jackson, 55, paraded into that city with the Father to meet loved ones waiting for her, She fought her final fight with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and Friends with lots of love.
Born Feb. 19, 1958, to her loving mother Martha Stepp Livingston In Henderson County where she has Lived her life. She was employed as a supervisor through WCCA childcare for 15 years and completed her college degree at Blue Ridge College while working. She loved working with her children and has many friends who have been a great support to her through all her battles with cancer.
She was a member at Union Hill Baptist Church and read her Bible knowing this was her road map to her journey.
Also surviving are her husband Lawrence Jackson, son Martin Lawrence Jackson (Shawna) of Canton, daughter Jennifer Hildebrand (Rob) of Hendersonville; two grandchildren, the light of her eyes, Ethan and Kyla; brothers Stanley Livingston (Charlene) of Hendersonville, Ricky Livingston (Kay) of Fletcher, Scottie Livingston of Fletcher; sister Coleen (Cookie) Metcalf (Douglas) of Asheville; John Livingston (Judy) of Aberdeen, Wash., Merrell Livingston (Janice) of Nashville, Tenn., and Clarence Livingston (Rita) of Fletcher
She was predeceased by her sister Sharon Roseann Pizano in October 2011and a niece, Krystal, whom she has met with the many whom were waiting.
Special dear friends who have been with the family are Joann Hudson, life-long friend, and Pegg Doody, both of Hendersonville and many more. She never met anyone whom she didn't touch their life if she could.
A special thank you to all the doctors at Cancer Care and Hendersonville Radiology and the Palliative and Hospice care doctors and nurses and workers who have been a blessing to our family in this time.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Doug Carroll, Rev. Brandon Harrell and Rev. Matthew Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday night fat Jackson Funeral Service and at other times will be at the home.
