Beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor, Charles Nathan Thompson has hiked his last mountain and paddled his last river. Nath 83, directed Camp Carolina for boys for 50 years in Brevard. He passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.
Nath is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Brumback Thompson; daughter Kimbrough Thompson Tayloe and husband Ryal Woodall Tayloe of Wilimington; son Charles Nathan Thompson Jr. and partner Linda Seebantz of Ojo Caliente, N.M.; son Alfred Brumback Thompson and wife Mary Eccles Cheatham Thompson of Brevard; and grandchildren Ryal Woodall Tayloe Jr. and Laura Kline Tayloe, Nathan Thompson Tayloe, Mary Rosser Tayloe, Alfred Brumback Thompson Jr. and Mary Brenning Thompson.
A service will be held at noon Saturday, Nov., 30, 2013, at Camp Carolina in Brevard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: The Nath Thompson Scholarship Fund, Camp Carolina P.O. Box 919 Brevard NC 28712, Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
