John Burnell Williams, 73

John Burnell Williams, 73, of Hendersonville passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the Elizabeth House.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rome and Essie Justice Williams, a son Terry Williams, his first wife Katherine Cantrell Williams and two brothers, Broadus and Cham Williams.

He graduated from the Production School at Coca Cola in Atlanta, worked for Coca Cola for many years, Southern Alarm, French Broad River Decoy Company and retired from Osborne Oldsmobile.

He was a member of Union Hill Holiness Baptist Church.

He was an avid woodworker, loved crafts and helping people.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Betty Jackson Williams; three sons, Johnny Williams of Brevard, Teddy Williams and his wife Claudia of Saluda and Gary Laughter and his wife Lisa of Hendersonville; a daughter, Pauline Fisher and her husband Vaughn of Arden; five sisters, Helen Merrell, Dorothy Taylor, Annette Johnson, Marita Case and her husband Jack and Lorraine Constance; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Doug Carroll officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
