Dallas David Baines, 64

Dallas David Baines, 64, of Cedar Mountain died Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Elizabeth House.

David was born March 23, 1950, in Cedar Mountain to the late Dallas Dexter and Mary Catherine Jones Baines.

Survivors include his wife Lucy Metcalf Baines of Cedar Mountain; son Brian Michael Baines and wife Gail of Marshall; daughter Kim B. Marchisin and husband Michael of Brevard; step-daughters April D. Lewis of Larchmont, N.Y., and Alicia F. Zahn of Purcellville, Va.; brother Christopher Phillip Baines and wife Renee of Cedar Mountain; sisters Elayne B. Hayes and husband Carl of Leicester and Linda B. Hunter and husband Donnie of Cleveland, S.C.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr Baines was a self-employed carpenter, a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church and a graduate of Brevard High School. David was a resident of Transylvania County for 50 years.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Blue Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Oliver and Rev. Alan Martin officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall after the service.
