Patricia "Pat" Harvey, 65

Patricia "Pat" Harvey, 65, of Hendersonville passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock after a brief illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Gladys Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Harvey, Jr. who died in 2003; her brother, Jackie Taylor; sister, Betty Golightly; and daughter, Kim Harvey Jones.

Pat was an employee of Walmart where she had worked in the Shoe Department for 17 years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and watching the birds in her yard. Pat especially loved spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with her family. A member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, she was very devoted to the Lord and spent a lot of time studying her Bible.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Ellen Harvey Rhodes; son, Hal "Bubba" Robert Harvey and his wife, Libby; grandchildren, Elizabeth Rhodes, Alexis Carswell, William Cole Harvey, Amelia Jones and Wheeler Jones; great-grandchildren, Shane Garrett and Jade Ogletree; brothers, Sonny Taylor of Georgia and Charles Taylor and wife, Cathey; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Oakdale Cemetery in Hendersonville. The Reverend Danny Pridmore will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Shuler Funeral Home.\
