Mike Fox, Sr., 64, of Hendersonville went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 10, 2014, surrounded by his family at his home after a brief illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of Rachel Willis Fox of Del Rio, Tenn., and the late Lovell Fox. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Fox.
Mike was Assistant Manager in the Produce Department of Harris-Teeter and attended Mud Creek Baptist Church. He served as a volunteer coach with Henderson County Parks and Recreation and was the former President of Babe Ruth Baseball.
In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Susie Fox of Hendersonville; two sons, Mike "Mickey" Fox, Jr. and wife, Lisa, and Nick Fox and wife, Veronica, all of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, Preston, Haley, Ayden and Lauren; two brothers, Don Fox and wife, Charlotte, of Del Rio, Tenn., and Doug Fox and his wife, Jeanane, of Parrotsville, Tenn.; one sister, Debbie Hurt of North Wilkesboro; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Del Rio, Tenn., with Pastor Bill Murr officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Henderson County Youth Softball and Henderson County Youth Baseball, PO Box 343, Hendersonville, NC 28793.
