Pauline V. Templeman, 97, of Hendersonville died Sunday Oc. 5, 2014 at the Four Seasons Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.
She was born Feb. 23, 1917, in Davy, W.Va,. to the late John Floyd and Lena Williams Vogt. In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by four brothers Floyd, Carl, William, and Bob; and a sister Shirley.
After finishing high school she enrolled in pre-nursing school at Tacoma Park, Md. She then later received her nurse's training at the Florida Sanitarium and Hospital in Orlando, Fla. While in Florida she met Richard Mallory Templeman and the two were married on Oct. 28, 1943. Mr Templeman was serving in the armed forces of World War II. Upon returning from serving his country, the couple returned to Tacoma Park where Dick enrolled in Washington Missionary College. He then worked at the Review and Herald Publishing Association. Dick died in 1977. In 1984, Polly moved to Hendersonville and lived here for 30 years. She became involved with the Park Ridge Hospital Auxillary, managing the gift shop for 20 years. The gift shop was named Polly's Gifts in her honor. She was a member of the Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at the Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 9, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Thos. Shepherd and Son Funeral Home.
