D9 Brewing Company is opening its third location, a microbrewery, taproom and coffee shop, later this spring on Main Street in downtown Hendersonville.
Located in the former Swanson’s piano store, the brewery will offer signature and limited releases from D9, as well as ciders on tap and wines from partner brands and will sell coffee from Main Street Coffee. D9 becomes the sixth craft brewpub in the downtown area and the first on Main Street.
Working closely with the Hendersonville Historic Preservation Commission, the new D9 brewery will respect the history of the space while bringing some new flavor to the area.
“We are excited to be a part of the community and to be a part of the growing craft brewing culture here,” Andrew Durstewitz, D9 founder and CEO, said in a news release. “We love having a location on Main Street with so much history and can't wait to be a part of its future. We're planning some pretty interesting and original products that will be specific to the area, and we're looking forward to unveiling those options to the community.”
Founded in 2014, D9 Brewing has continued to stand out from the craft beer pack by having an innovative business model that allows rapid and strategic growth in the highly disruptive beer industry. In addition to the Hendersonville location, D9 Brewing Company will soon open its second location later this month in Charlotte and has moved its production operation to Newton.
Born of a shared passion for the science and community of craft beer, the founders of D9 Brewing began their journey like most — in their garage. After almost six years, they graduated to a small commercial facility before going on to create D9 Brewing's first production location in 2014. After winning multiple prestigious medals in coveted sour beer categories, D9 became one of the Charlotte area's largest breweries.
Staying true to their roots, the founders focused on the creation of smaller microbrewery locations throughout North Carolina where their passion for "Unquestionably Original" ales could continue to grow and connect with the local community. With three microbreweries, one production brewery and a distribution center, D9 Brewing has positioned itself to support the community both locally and regionally.
