'Best Winery in the State' is in Hendersonville

Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, the 11-year-old winery on Chestnut Gap Road, may get a lot busier now that it's been named the Best Winery in North Carolina by Yelp.

In a story featured in both the Raleigh News & Observer and the Charlotte Observer, the winery is praised for its wine, service and views of vineyards.

Yelp, a restaurant review site, said it studied wineries and online comments to rank each one "using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews."

In addition to live music and food trucks on weekends (and allowing patrons to bring their own picnic), Saint Paul also offers Appalachian Ridge Artisan Hard Cider and Sharewell Coffee in a restored 1920s apple barn across the road from the winery and tasting room.
