WHKP has added veteran broadcaster Jerry Mac to its "Good Morning, Morning Hendersonville" show from 6 to 10 a.m.
Mac has 25 years of broadcast experience including most recently at a full-power FM country radio station in St. Cloud, Minn. Mac and his family opted for the warmer climate of Western North Carolina. He and his wife have moved to Hendersonville and enrolled their children in Immaculata Catholic School.
Mac joins co-host Chuck Finley in the morning time slot. The new co-host comes on one hour after Finley kicks off the early programming with the classic country hour from 5 to 6 a.m.
"Look for Jerry out and about in the community," WHKP program director Larry Freeman said in a news release. "He'll be representing WHKP in remote broadcasts, community and civic events and visiting area businesses. Jerry will be a lot more than a voice on the air."
