Home builders to make repairs for needy

Each year the Hendersonville Home Builders Association holds an annual TEAM Day (Together Everyone Achieves More), which provides skilled labor to repair homes for elderly low-income residents of Henderson County.

Over the past eight years the builders have made repairs to 29 homes. The recipients are identified through a screening process by the Housing Assistance Corp. Although many local building material suppliers donate materials to the cause, there is still a need to develop funding for the material costs for these worthwhile projects.
This year's TEAM Day fundraiser will be held at 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Southern Appalachian Brewery on Locust Street in Hendersonville. For your $25 ticket donation you will receive a pint of beer, a glass of wine or a beer tasting flight. Dinner will also be served. Jeff Michels will play music. New this year is a single-elimination corn hole tournament, which is limited to the first 32 participants at a cost of $20 with prizes for the winning team.
