Up with the new (and the Old Well) at Pardee

Pardee Hospital began switching out 32 signs on the main campus of the hospital today as part of the rebranding and partnership with UNC Health Care, adding the familiar Old Well symbol of the state's flagship university to the county-owned hospital.

Crews erected 10-foot wide sign at the main entrance of the hospital shortly after noon today. The crews, from Fast Signs and Dover Crane, both of Asheville, was then set to change other signs on the grounds.

"Fundamentally speaking it's not just signage," said Rick Prudhome, Pardee's marketing director. "It's a cultural shift that reflects growth. We're excited about this because we're letting the community know what this means in a nutshell. The cultural shift is not just about health care. It's about the affiiation and about the patient."
