Travel & Tourism awards grants

ECCO won grant to help teach kids about the aquarian.

The Henderson County Travel & Tourism board has awarded $30,000 worth of grants to organizations and events that bring tourists to Hendersonville. Organizations submitted requests totaling $60,904.

The grants ranged from $5,000 for an apple orchard directory to $400 for the annual Harambee Festival. Here are the organizations, date of event, amount request, amount awarded and reason for the grant (if only one amount is listed T&T awarded the full request):
