Specialized Physical Therapy announced the opening of its new clinic in the newly renovated historic building at 101 East Allen St. downtown.
Specialized PT will offer physical therapy services for a variety of diagnoses and conditions, including post-operative conditions, balance and coordination problems, sprains, strains, fractures, and many more. Clinic Director and Physical Therapist Dr. Andrew Grissom and his team will develop individualized treatment plans for each patient to help restore mobility, reduce pain, increase fitness levels, prevent injury, or slow the progression of irreversible medical conditions.
Dr. Grissom grew up in Charlotte, NC, and completed a doctorate in physical therapy at Loma Linda University in 2017. While living in Loma Linda, he helped build a health clinic called Street Medicine, designed to supply health care to underserved communities in Southern California and was heavily involved in a number of opportunities at the local children’s hospital. He is also certified as a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) provider - the only certified medical professional in the Western North Carolina region. Dr. Grissom utilizes the TPI movement screen to identify physical limitations which would increase someone’s risk for injury or limit their performance on the golf course.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Hendersonville community in 2020,” Grissom said. “My goal is to help patients achieve their movement and health goals, while advising realistic therapy plans to get them there. Combining my love of people and health, I hope to continue to make a daily impact on the lives of each patient I serve in Hendersonville."
Specialized Physical Therapy also has centers Asheville and Candler. It's a part of Team Movement for Life, a group of 24 national physical therapy clinics that share administrative resources and support services in California, Arizona and North Carolina.
