Bowhunters honor Edwards as Legislator of the Year

U.S. Rep. Chuck Edwards recently was presented the 2022 Legislator of the Year Award by the North Carolina Bowhunters Association for his work in the North Carolina Senate to fund and support wildlife habitat research in North Carolina’s national forests.

“As a sportsman myself, I’m honored to receive the N.C. Bowhunters Association’s 2022 Legislator of the Year Award,” Edwards said. “I look forward to continuing to represent WNC hunters in Congress.”
Bowhunters Association member David Whitmire, praised Edwards’s responsiveness to his group’s request.
“He listened to our concerns about wildlife and initiated a study in validating those concerns,” he said. “The result was the hiring of two foresters to address the need — boots-on-the-ground action. Wildlife and wildlife advocates will benefit from this for many years.”
