Former Henderson County Commissioner Renee Kumor was appointed to the North Carolina Clean Water Management Trust Fund by Speaker Thom Tillis.
Kumor had served on the board until a reorganization in 2013.
State Rep. Chuck McGrady, a member of the trust fund board before his election to the state House in 2010, applauded the appointment.
"I pushed for Renee Kumor's appointment to the Clean Water Management Trust Fund board because she is experienced with land conservation issues, and it is important to have more representation from the mountains on that board since much of the State's land conservation work is done in western North Carolina," McGrady said in a statement. "I hope the trust fund will continue to provide funding to complete land acquisitions relating to DuPont State Recreational Forest and the new Headwaters State Forest."
