HHS alum wins award for film

Anne Beal of Hendersonville won an award for the "Best Animated Film" at the Southeastern New England Film Festival in Providence, R.I., on April 28.

Beal, a 2005 graduate of Hendersonville High School, made the film "Balance and Swing" as her graduation project at the Rhode Island School of Design. The Annecy Animation International Film Festival in France had previously selected her film to be shown as part of this year's festival in June.
Her film is made up of 2,520 individual paintings that she photographed to create the animation. It won as "Best Animated Film" among 11 entered.
Beal is the daughter of Lou Reeves and Robert Beal Sr. Her stepfather is David Reeves. Her brother, Robert Beal Jr., is a 2008 graduate of HHS.
