Soloists and chamber ensembles from the Hendersonville Symphony Youth Orchestras performed for holiday shoppers at the Hendersonville Ace Hardware on Greenville Highway on Dec. 14.
Nearly 20 student musicians performed a variety of holiday favorites and other selections in the Ace Hardware cafe surrounded Christmas trees, poinsettias and ornaments. The annual event was a part of the HSYO Day at Ace Hardware, co-sponsored by the Hendersonville Symphony League, which is led by Sandy Hastie. Ace Hardware owner Greg Paul donated a percentage of sales for the day in support of the HSYO programs.
"We are very grateful for this opportunity for our youth to perform in such a lovely setting and for Ace's generosity in supporting our orchestras" said HSYO manager Eric Scheider.
The event raised $450 for the HSYO's three orchestras. Almost 100 students from throughout Henderson and surrounding counties rehearse and perform together throughout the year in the HSYO's three orchestras.
