Megan Aubrey, the valedictorian of Hendersonville High School, was awarded the Curtis Marker Science scholarship during the high school's annual Move Up Assembly on Friday.
Miss Aubrey, the daughter of Margaret Aubrey, is a member of the National Honor Society and was a four-year volleyball player at HHS. The Marker scholarship, now in its fifth year, is one of the highest value scholarships awarded in Henderson County to a local high school student.
Funded by Curtis and Susan Marker, it covers tuition, room, board and fees and is valued at $20,000 to $25,000 a year. Miss Aubrey plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
