Antique evaluation planned at Historic Johnson Farm

Get a professional evaluation of your treasures. Is it an antique or not? Come to the Historic Johnson Farm from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 14, and bring that family heirloom you inherited.

A crew of well-known local antique dealers will be available to evaluate your treasure and share their knowledge with you for $5 per item or three items for $10. You know that you've always wondered what that special item might be worth. During the course of the verbal evaluation, you may discover why age alone may not make your heirloom treasure valuable. But, who knows, you may have something really priceless, or something with a simple nostalgic value. No reservation required. Snacks and beverages will be available.

The on-site 1880's Johnson family farm house is stuffed with treasures of all types; many of which were donated community members. Some of those items may be considered valuable while others have only nostalgic value. This evening's evaluation is intended to be a fun, informative evening including a verbal evaluation of age and worth of your own keepsake. Evaluation values differ when being placed on an item as to insurance replacement, market value, regional desirability, and the economy.

As always, all funds raised at this event will go to support education at the Historic Johnson Farm for residents of the area. For more information, call 828-891-6585.

The farm is at 3346 Haywood Road, Hendersonville, across from the Rugby Middle School.
