FEMA unit offering free vaccines through Sunday at Asheville Outlets

Asheville Outlets will host free Covid-19 vaccinations 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon-8 p.m. Sunday behind Sportsman’s Warehouse.

FEMA is sending its mobile community vaccine center to Buncombe County in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, local public health departments, and the Mountain Area Health Education Center.

Residents do not need an appointment in advance, and all three approved vaccines will be available. All three have all proven safe and effective against COVID-19 illness and its complications. More than 335 million doses of Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson vaccines have been administered across the U.S. since December 2020. The FEMA vaccine center can administer up to 250 vaccines each day. The FEMA vaccine center will return to Asheville Outlets Aug. 11-14.
