The North Carolina Cyclo-Cross Series will host races 10 and 11 in its 13-race 25th anniversary season with the Hunter Subaru North Carolina Grand Prix this weekend at Jackson Park.
The Hunter Subaru Grand Prix is the final event in USA Cycling’s Professional Cyclocross calendar. The race is also the finals of the GoCross/NCGP Cup, a 4 race series using combined time from the first 2 and last 2 races in the ProCX calendar. The NCGP is one of the last chances for racers to earn points toward rankings for the 2021 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships, beginning Dec. 7 in Chicago
The Jackson Park course takes advantage of the varied terrain at the venue. Racing will start at 8:30 a.m. both days, with the featured UCI Elite Women starting at 2:15 p.m. and the UCI Elite Men starting at 3:25 p.m. This year the grand prix will also feature the UCI Elite U19 Men and Women categories at 12:45 p.m. The NCGP is the final event for the ECCC and ACCC collegiate cyclo-cross schedule.
The event is free for spectators. The course can be viewed almost entirely from the top of the Sycamore Cycles wall, with views of the Beverly-Hanks barriers, Pepsi pits and Bike Law steps. Vehicles from Hunter Subaru will be on display, and food available from local vendors. Jackson Park will remain open all weekend for public use but there will be no through traffic during the event. The preferred entrance into Jackson Park is from the Glover Street entrance off Spartanburg Highway.
