The Henderson County Republican Party and the Henderson County Republican Men’s Club will host a forum featuring the three Republican candidates for the open state House District 117 seat at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April, 30, at the Cascades Resort off Sugarloaf Road.
The candidates are Dennis Justice, Jennifer Balkcom and Chelsea Walsh. Incumbent Tim Moffitt is running for the state Senate. Reservations are required. To reserve a seat email noirs@aol.com.
The doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $10 for the breakfast buffet, payable at the door. The debate is open to all Republican and unaffiliated voters. A moderator will ask questions on a variety of subjects. Questions will be taken from the audience but voters may also submit questions in advance by emailing noirs@aol.com.
The primary is Tuesday, May 17, with early voting starting April 28. The Republican nominee will face Democrat Michael Greer O'Shea in the Nov. 8 general election.
