Greenville consultants Arnett Muldrow & Associates, which the city has hired to to guide a community vision and branding process for the Historic Seventh Avenue District, will host a series of stakeholder roundtables and a public input meeting Tuesday, Aug. 9.
Arnett Muldrow has 20 years of downtown planning, community development and place branding work and has worked with more than 500 communities in 40 states and five countries, including a Hendersonville project in 2007 to create the "H" logo that represents downtown.
The Hendersonville Downtown Advisory Board and a subcommittee composed of board members, Seventh Avenue stakeholders and residents of the nearby Green Meadows community were a part of the consultant selection process and interviewed three consultants about their experience in place branding, community and equitable engagement processes.
All are invited to a public meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at the City Operations Center at 305 Williams St. Stakeholder roundtables for business owners, property owners and residents near Seventh Avenue and Green Meadows will take place prior to the public meeting.
The project completion goal is set for fall just in time for breaking ground of phase 1 of the Seventh Avenue Streetscape, which will provide pedestrian and stormwater improvements on Seventh Avenue from North Grove Street to the railroad tracks.
