AdventHealth names new foundation director

Trina Stokes has been named new director of AdventHealth Hendersonville's Foundation, the hospital announced.

Stokes has been part of the AdventHealth team since 2020, serving as major gifts officer for the Foundation before moving to the role of strategic planning manager.

“Living in this community, you quickly become familiar with AdventHealth Hendersonville,” Stokes said. “I have been both a recipient of their care and a community partner by way of my previous career. Through both relationships I was always impressed with the team and the way AdventHealth supported the community. I knew if the opportunity was right, I wanted to find my way on the team at AdventHealth.”

Growing up in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Stokes has always been inspired to give back to the place that she calls home. Shortly after graduating from UNC Asheville, she secured her first job working in higher education. She quickly learned skills that would ultimately land her in the role of executive director of South College at 26 years old. While managing the multitude of facets it takes to run a college, Stokes was also pursuing and securing her MBA from the University of Tennessee. It was during this time that she realized she wanted to plant firm roots in Henderson County with her growing family.

Before joining AdventHealth in 2020, Stokes served as executive director of the Council on Aging for Henderson County, where she sustained and developed programs for the community’s older adult population. During her seven years with COA, Stokes also cultivated partnerships with community leaders and agencies to enhance the organizations impact and funding levels.

“I am excited to see how Stokes and her team continue to lead our Foundation as they connect with our community and provide them the opportunity to partner with the physicians and caregivers in the ministry of AdventHealth,” said Brandon Nudd, president and chief executive officer for AdventHealth Hendersonville. “I look forward to the ongoing patient care enhancements and service line development that Trina will help our Foundation achieve as AdventHealth continues to provide world-class, whole-person care across our region.”

Stokes lives in Henderson County with her husband and three children.

“My family is at the center of everything I do," she said. "Outside of work, our family enjoys spending time outdoors, usually on a dirt bike or at a baseball field. When we aren’t chasing our kids from one sporting event to another, we enjoy trying out the local eateries in WNC.”
