'Past due invoices' email NOT legitimate, city warns

The city of Hendersonville warned on Wednesday that a spam email had gone out both to staff members in City Hall and to the community email users communitywide with subject line “Past due Invoices.”

The email appeared to come from Zoning Enforcement Officer Kathy Bragg’s email, kbragg@hvlnc.gov. This is NOT a legitimate email. Recipients should not open any attachments or click any links contained in the email. A screen shot of the spam email is attached.

"We apologize for the inconvenience and are working with our IT personnel to look into the issue," spokeswoman Allison Justus said.
