ETOWAH — Henderson County sheriff’s deputies charged a 21-year-old man with multiple felonies after he allegedly stabbed three people — two of whom were airlifted to hospitals with life-threatening injuries — on Monday night.
The county’s 911 center received a call around 6:30 p.m. regarding a disturbance on Meadow View Lane in the Fox Ridge Mobile Home Park. The caller reported that a man had a knife and had possibly stabbed other people.
Upon arrival, law officers encountered the suspect still in possession of a knife. The officers were able to engage in dialogue with the suspect, persuading him to place the weapon on the ground. Subsequently, the suspect was immediately detained, ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
It was quickly determined that three people living at the residence had sustained stab wounds, and two had suffered life-threatening injuries. Henderson County EMS along with Etowah Horse Shoe Fire & Rescue quickly arrived at the scene and administered critical medical treatment to the victims. Given the severity of their injuries, two victims were airlifted to nearby trauma centers, while the third victim was transported by ambulance.
The investigation into this incident has been taken over by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit. Deputies charged Brandon Lee Bond with assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Bond was jailed in the Henderson County Detention Center under a $124,000 bond. He was scheduled for a first appearance in Henderson County District Court on Wednesday, July 5.
