Henderson County sheriff's deputies charged two Hendersonville men with multiple drug-related felonies after a vehicle pursuit followed by a foot chase on Thursday.
Detectives with the drug interdiction and criminal enforcement squad were conducting a proactive patrol in the area of Mitchelle Drive and Orrs Camp Road when they spotted a vehicle driven by John Quentin London, 38. London had previously been the subject of numerous community complaints regarding his alleged drug dealing. When deputies attempted a vehicle stop on London, the suspect attempted to flee.
Detectives pursued London through Hendersonville before he finally stopped in the area of Wilmont Drive and Tracy Grove Road. Upon stopping, London and a passenger, later identified as 28-year-old Christopher Russell, ran. Detectives caught London after a short chase on foot. Detectives were able to contain the area and bring in a K9 to track down Russell. After a short hunt, Russell was also taken into custody without incident. After obtaining a search warrant on London’s vehicle, detectives seized:
London was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine by possession trafficking in methamphetamine by transport possession with intent to sell or distribute cocaine possession with intent to sell or distribute a schedule 1 controlled substance possession with intent to sell or distribute of a schedule 4 controlled substance possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana resist, obstruct, delay of a public officer possession of drug paraphernalia conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine felony flee to elude arrest possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was jailed in the Henderson County Detention Center under no bond.
Russell was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine by possession trafficking in methamphetamine by transport, possession with intent to sell or distribute cocaine, possession with intent to sell or distribute of a schedule 1 controlled substance, possession with intent to sell or distribute of a schedule 4 controlled substance, possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana, resist, obstruct, delay of a public officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine. He was jailed in the Henderson County Detention Center under a $500,000 bond.
