Hendersonville Theatre announces auditions for One-Act Festival

Hendersonville Theatre is hosting auditions on Saturday, June 29, for its upcoming One-Act Festival at the theatre on South Washington Street Aug. 23-25.

 

Hendersonville Theatre is a small theatre that welcomes actors, dancers, and singers of all experience levels. You don’t need any experience to audition. 

One-Act Festival roles are open to anyone ages 16 and older who lives throughout Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. Actors are compensated through audience donations, so the theater does not guarantee a stipend or provide housing, meals or pay for rehearsals. However, the theater offers a warm, friendly and creative environment where actors can showcase their talents and feel appreciated for their work. The theater encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities and ages, as well as performers with disabilities, to audition.  


Here are the details:
  1. Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 29. You can sign up for a time here.
  2. If you have not registered for a time beforehand, we will see you between appointments, but you may have a wait time.
  3. Please arrive 15 minutes before your time slot if we run ahead of schedule. 
  4. Auditionees should prepare a 1-2 minute monologue. You can read the monologue if you do not have it memorized. If your monologue runs over 2 minutes, you will be cut off. 
  5. Cold readings from selected scripts will also be available upon arrival. You will be provided a reader for the cold reading portion of your audition.
  6. You will be considered for all appropriate parts, even if you do not read for them.
  7. Go here to submit a YouTube or Vimeo video audition. Videos must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. June 29.
