A West Henderson High School student was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening stab wound and another student was taken into custody by West's School Resource Officer just after 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, the county public school system said in a statement.
"Earlier this afternoon, at 3:05 pm, the West Henderson High School Resource Officer reported an incident involving two students to the 911 Center," the statement said. "During the altercation, one of the individuals sustained a stab wound and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other individual involved was taken into custody by the School Resource Officer. At this time, there is no ongoing threat to the school and public. Due to the involvement of minors and to protect the integrity of the investigation, no further details are being released."
