CLOSINGS AND CANCELLATIONS

Closings and cancellations:
- Schools are closed for students, teachers and staff Thursday and Friday.
- Interfaith Assistant Ministries is closed Thursday and Friday for all services and volunteers.
- Laura E. Corn Mini-golf at Edwards Park closed Friday and Saturday.
- Mills River Town Council meeting, cancelled.
- Bill Moore Park, Fletcher, closed.
- Children and Family Resource Center Harvest Dinner, cancelled.
- BRCC day and night classes, cancelled Thursday and Friday.
- Hunger Walk, cancelled.
- Laurel Park Town Hall, closed. (Trash will be picked up.)
- The Park at Flat Rock, closed Thursday and Friday; park director will determine whether the park will open on Saturday.
- Flat Rock Village Hall, closed Friday. (Please call ahead if you're planning on visiting Thursday to make sure the Village Hall is still open.)
- Mills River town park, town hall and library, closed.

City of Hendersonville offices closed at noon Thursday, closed Friday. No garbage, recycling or brush collection will occur on Friday. If you are a Friday customer, or if your Thursday collection was unable to be completed due to the collection crew’s inability to access your property, your collection will be completed on your regular day next week. Any extra bagged garbage for those customers may be placed with their can for collection next week. Customers are asked to secure carts to ensure they are not blown away during the storm.
- UNC Health Pardee: Due to inclement weather and worsening road conditions throughout the region, all outpatient clinics including Pardee BlueMD and specialist locations closed at noon Thursday and remain closed on Friday. Practices will contact patients to cancel and reschedule appointments. Pardee Urgent Care will also close at noon Thursday.
Residents are urged to take steps to prepare their homes and families for the approaching storm. Key safety tips include:
- Stay informed: Sign up for local weather and City of Hendersonville alerts at here or text AlertHVL to 226787.
- Plan ahead: Ensure you have enough food, water, medications, and other essentials to last at least 72 hours. Charge cell phones are charged and have a battery-powered radio, flashlights, and extra batteries on hand.
- Prepare your home: Clear downspouts, drains, and ditches to prevent flooding, and secure outdoor items that could be blown away by high winds.
- Travel safely: Never drive through flooded roadways or around barricades—Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Citations may be issued for individuals who ignore safety measures, endangering themselves and emergency responders.
