Henderson County's early voting will proceed as planned starting Thursday, Oct. 17, with only one voting site, the Board of Elections Office, 75 E. Central St., off Spartanburg Highway.
Hours are 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2.
All traffic entering the Board of Elections during the early voting period, must turn right from Spartanburg Highway onto Old Spartanburg Highway. To prevent congestion and traffic crashes at the intersection of Spartanburg Highway and Old Spartanburg Highway and with cooperation with our local law enforcement, the new pattern prohibits traffic from left turns onto Old Spartanburg Highway.
Addressing concerns regarding mail accessibility after Hurricane Helene, the North Carolina State Board of Elections adopted an emergency resolution that will allow for absentee ballots to be issued, in-person, at elections boards.
"If you have ANY concerns about your ability to vote in-person during this election or if have previously requested an absentee ballot that is now lost or damaged, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office," Elections Director Summer Heatherly said in a news release.
