Elections board sending teams to help voters with absentee ballots

Multipartisan Assistance Teams from the  Henderson County Board of Elections is sending to four communities next to assist voters with absentee ballots post-Helene.

To help alleviate concerns about voter accessibility after Hurricane Helene, the teams will be at the following locations to help process absentee requests and return of absentee ballots. The first day listed is for processing absentee requests; the second day is for the issuance of absentee ballots. (If needed, MAT members will be able to witness completed ballots and sign the return envelope.) Locations and times are:

• Edneyville Library, Oct. 21-22, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Fletcher Library, Oct. 23-24, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Gerton Fire Department, Oct. 25-26, Oct. 28-29, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Etowah Library, Oct. 30-31, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
