AAUW to honor Mayor Volk for leadership during Helene
Hendersonville Mayor Barbara Volk speaks during a groundbreaking for the sportsplex at Berkeley Mills Park.
AAUW invites the public to its general meeting honoring Mayor Barbara Volk and other Iconic Women on Thursday, April 10, at the First Congregational Church Fellowship Hall, 1735 Fifth Avenue W. An optional lunch is at 11:30 a.m. The program begins at noon.
The program will celebrate iconic women with the "iconic women trivia game" and honor Volk for her leadership during the Hurricane Helene crisis.
Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch, order from the club or just attend the program. Optional lunch costing $16 includes a chicken salad or smoked turkey sandwich, chips, sweet tea and dessert. Please reserve by April 6 at ssmreb@bellsouth.net Specify LC or LT for chicken or turkey.
