Swannanoa man charged in Brittany Place shooting

Hendersonville police charged a 21-year-old Swannanoa man with a shooting at Brittany Place Apartments Monday night that left the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police responding to a report at 8:30 p.m. of a person shot at the apartments off Chimney Rock Road found a male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Mission Hospital by EMS in stable condition. Officers charged Vincent Jarquis Dixon with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Dixon was jailed in the Henderson County Detention Facility without bond. The shooting was an isolated incident and there is no continuing threat to the public, the city said in a news release.
