Tuxedo Junction opens Music on Main series

Tuxedo Junction will open the 15th annual Music on Main Street concert series Friday at the Visitors Information Center, 201 S. Main St., Hendersonville.

The 15th annual Music On Main Street concert series is returning to the Visitors Information Center at 201 S. Main St. in Downtown Hendersonville for another exciting summer season. The popular concerts will be held every Friday evening from June 7 through Aug. 16.


The first Music On Main Street concert will feature the Asheville-based band Tuxedo Junction. This six member band plays classic music from the '40s & '50s, including swing and bebop, classic '50s & '60s rock 'n' roll, vintage East Coast Beach, Motown's golden era hits, pop-rock and funk from the '70s & '80s, as well as contemporary dance favorites to contemporary country. They play favorites such as "In the Mood," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Chattanooga Choo Choo," "Crazy," "Pretty Woman," "Under The Boardwalk," "Carolina Girls," "City of New Orleans," "Pink Cadillac" and "Mustang Sally."
The Hendersonville Antique Car Club will be showcasing its vintage and antique cars. The car show will be located in front of the Visitors Information Center, between Allen Street and Caswell Street, which will be closed to traffic. The Music on Main Street season opener is the inaugural concert of the new permanent stage located in the lower section of the Visitors Center parking lot. The new stage and revamped parking lot design will provide better visibility for Music On Main Street and the Street Dance performances.
Bring a chair and sit back, relax and enjoy the music from 7 to 9 p.m. Seating area opens after 5:30 p.m. Early admission is strictly prohibited. Hendersonville city ordinance prohibits animals in the event area. Alcoholic beverages and coolers are prohibited. Admission is free.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be postponed until 8 p.m. If the weather does not improve, the performance will be cancelled.
