Charges were dropped against a 29-year-old Hendersonville man arrested in June 2013 on first-degree rape charges.
Henderson County sheriff's deputies arrested Byron Aleem McClendon, of 639 Maple St., after an alleged victim told investigators McClendon forcibly held her against her will. She was able to escape and phone for help.
In May 2014, prosecutors voluntarily dismissed the case. A year after the arrest, in June 2014, Superior Court Judge Mark Powell granted McClendon's motion for an expunction of the charge, according to court records.
