'Roll models' to get free frozen yogurt treat

Safe bicycle riding and skateboarding in Hendersonville could earn kids a free dessert.

Police Chief Herbert Blake announced today that the Hendersonville Police Department is joining Yogurt World for "Operation Roll Model," which will reward children 12 and under who are "roll models" for bicycle and skateboard safety.

When found using proper safety, kids will get a "ticket" redeemable at Yogurt World for a yogurt valued at three dollars or less. The program, initiated and implemented by Sgt. Brandon McGaha, will be used to promote proper safety techniques over the summer months when using bicycles and skateboards.
