Pipe work to close Howard Gap Road for a day

The N.C. Department of Transportation will close Howard Gap Road from Nix Road to Old Holbert Road between Hendersonville and Fletcher from 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, to install a pipe culvert.

During the closure, the signed detour route will follow Nix Road to Clear Creek Road back to Howard Gap Road.

The work is part of a $7.8 million project to replace two bridges and widen Howard Gap Road between U.S. 64 and Brookside Camp Road in Henderson County. Project contractor is NHM Constructors of Asheville.
