Forest Service unveils trail app

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend, the traditional summer vacation kickoff, the U.S. Forest Service Southern Research Station unveiled the Forest Trail Explorer, a searchable web application that combines details on three popular trail systems in western North Carolina with the state-of-the-science information the SRS Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) unit collects on the region's forests.
