'Picante' with Ruben Orengo kicks off new concert series

The new Monday Night Live! concert series opens tonight with Picante! with Ruben Orengo.
The Monday Night Live! concert series will offer an eclectic mix of performers at the Visitors Information Center, 201 S. Main St. The schedule includes June 16: Letters to Abigail, playing Appalachian Americana; June 23: The Red Dirt Revelators, playing blues; and June 30: Country Pride, playing country and Western.The Asheville-based Latin rock and jazz band that features Orengo on violin, Warren Gaughan on piano, Dave de la Rosa on guitar, Ronnie Delerme on Latin percussion, Joel Pressman on bass, and Spencer Bolejack on percussion. Their music is "contagious" — the audience can't help but move to their smooth rhythms and popular music — so come prepared to salsa the night away.
Bring a chair and sit back, relax and enjoy the music from 7 to 9 p.m. every Monday night in June. Seating area opens after 5:30 p.m. Early admission is strictly prohibited.
Hendersonville city ordinance prohibits animals in the event area. Alcoholic beverages, backpacks and coolers are prohibited. Admission is free.
In case of inclement weather the concert will be postponed until 8 p.m. If the weather does not improve, the performance will be cancelled.
