Magazine lists Stepp farm as tops for apples

EDNEYVILLE — Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard off U.S. 64 in Edneyville has been chosen by Destinations Travel Magazine in its Oct. 14 issue as one of nation's best apple picking spots.

The farm was one of only 12 pick-your-own orchards selected as the best apple picking spots in the country and the only one in North Carolina. The three-generation family farm has been in the Stepp family for 50 years. The Stepp farm grows more than 20 varieties including Crispin, Ultragold, Rome and Golden Delicious, and offers pick your own and bagged apples.
